Where volume was reduced by flattening the deck profile, it was added back through a fuller midsection, keeping the board buoyant, stable, and easy to paddle into all kinds of surf. On most boards, the centre handle interrupts the stringer and structural layers directly beneath it — creating a weak point that disrupts the board's natural flex pattern. On the Torquay, the handle is mounted deliberately off-centre, leaving the deck radial carbon strap and 3/8" Paulownia wood stringer completely intact from nose to tail. The flex profile stays consistent, predictable, and exactly as designed; The kind of detail you'll never see, but will always feel.

The Torquay's twin fins and trailer are built around an oversized hex foam core; A construction that strips weight without touching the foil geometry that drives performance. Lighter fins keep the board feeling balanced, letting the board pivot and release more freely while maintaining the drive and hold you need when the surf gets serious. Run all three for stability and projection, or pull the trailer for a looser, skatier feel.

The Torquay's foam core is reinforced with high-density PVC around the fin boxes and leash plug; The stress points most likely to crack or delaminate under load. The entire standing area is then laminated with 2mm thick PVC, protecting the deck from pressure dings when taking heavy drops or surfing hard over time. The board is built to absorb punishment session after session, and still look and perform like new.
