Summer time. Time to race.
Summer is upon us. Warm water. Warmer Sunshine. It's time to get on the water and paddle with a purpose. It's time to race. Most paddle locales with have races coming up and San Diego is no exception.
West Coast Paddle Sports will once again this year team up with Revolt Surf Series to help put on the only Summer Paddle Race Event in Mission Bay Park right here in our back yard. We have added new courses and new distances this year. We will have 2- 10k courses, one for the Elite Paddlers only which will take them out of the bay and into the open waters of the Pacific. For the open division the 10k will take them into the Mission Beach Channel for a short distance before we turn them around back into the bay. The 5k and the 3k will both be run in the Bonita Cove so that spectators can follow their favorite paddlers.
Also look for the new Megladon Inflatable Sprint race by Isle Surf. This should be a crowd favorite as well as a fun event for the paddlers. If interested in this then get a 6 person team together.
There will be a kids technical course as well as a beginner race.
